Part II

Tuesday: On the second day, J and I went to visit the Tower of London and the British Museum.  We started our day with scones, tea, eggs, bacon, Greek yogurt, blueberries, strawberries and bacon.  Soon after, we boarded the Chiltern railway and wound our way through the tube system of London.  We arrived at the Tower, only expecting to stay a maximum of two hrs, but there proved to be so much to see and everything was so fascinating that we ended up staying 4.

The outer walls of the historic Tower.

The royal ravens

All the Queen's horses and all the Queen's men...

We had a picnic lunch in the grassy moat area while we watched the raven's hopping about on the lawn.  The ravens are about twice as big as American crows and they are so beautiful.

After that, we went to the museum and looked at Egyptian and Roman artifacts.  We wanted to see the Rosetta stone but everything was about to close, so we didn't get a chance.
